4. Scope Smartsheet


The Smartsheet software (following just called "Smartsheet") is a cloud-based platform that helps
teams manage their project management. It contains features of spreadsheets as well of databases,
either. Among many other things, one purpose of the software is, to provide a so-called "Project Man-
agement Information System (PMIS)". This is a system that organizes information and data which are
in need for a successful execution of projects.

Users can plan, track, and collaborate on work in a dynamic and flexible way. Smartsheet is used by a
wide range of industries and professions for various tasks. The Smartsheet software is together with

Microsoft Project the most predominant tool in the automotive supply industry. Smartsheet scores

with a more user-friendly interface, while Microsoft Project provides a more extensive functionality.

Smartsheet offers the user a familiar spreadsheet view, making it easy for users to enter and organize
data. The user can assign tasks to responsible people. Gantt views are offered, as well work-flow au-
tomation.

Smartsheet enables teams to collaborate on projects world-wide, store and share documents, and
communicate in real-time. Team members have assigned user rights, considering administration and
permissions, so they can handle their roles and take the security aspect also largely into consideration.
This allows users to create reports and dashboards to visualize project progress and track key metrics.

Smartsheet is highly customizable, allowing users to tailor the software to their specific needs and
workflows. It can be scaled to accommodate projects of all sizes, from small teams to large global
enterprises.

While it's difficult to pinpoint an exact number of companies using "Smartsheet", it is used by over
80% of Fortune 500 companies and more than 78,000 customers in 190 countries, according to Smart-
sheet Inc.
