23.1.2. Backward Pass
• Backward Pass Planning is not recommended, otherwise you rob yourself of slack time in
advance.
• However, you should be familiar with backward planning, since you may also encounter such
a project plan from somebody else.
• Backward Pass Planning: All tasks start as late as possible.
• To perform Backward Planning we add to the predecessor number the term "SF", which
stands for "Start-Finish". By the way, we already talked about in "17.1 Dependencies (Prede-
cessors)" page 91.
• Watch the little arrows in the GANTT-chart to recognize at a glance the pass direction.
